A BIT ABOUT ME

Mia Arnold is an experienced event manager and arts administrator with a rich background in event planning, marketing and community engagement. Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, she moved to Buffalo, New York, in July 2024. She currently serves as the Event Manager at American Niagara Hospitality, where she oversees a wide range of events, from conferences to galas, managing all aspects from catering to logistics. With a Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Entertainment Management from Eastern Michigan University, Mia has developed a diverse skill set that spans event coordination, graphic design, public relations, and database management.

Mia’s previous roles include Events/Publicity Coordinator for the University of Michigan's Department of Philosophy, where she planned and managed 50-60 events annually, and Gallery Associate, Logistics & Design Coordinator at Habatat Galleries, the oldest and largest contemporary glass art gallery in the United States. At Habatat, she played a crucial role in organizing gallery exhibitions, VIP events, and collector weekends, working closely with world-renowned artists and high-profile collectors. She managed the gallery’s extensive database, coordinated artwork shipments, and ensured proper inventory tracking of thousands of pieces. Additionally, Mia used her graphic design expertise to create print and digital advertisements, invitations, and marketing materials, including event promotions for Metro Times and other media outlets. Her ability to juggle logistics, client relations, and creative marketing made her an integral part of the gallery’s operations.

She also has experience in sponsorships and partnerships through her work with the Ann Arbor Film Festival and as an Event Supervisor at Maybury Farm. A strong advocate for the arts, Mia has contributed to arts organizations such as The Guild of Artists & Artisans, where she designed promotional materials for art fairs including the Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair and gallery exhibitions at Gutman Gallery. She is passionate about building connections within the arts community and is dedicated to creating accessible spaces for people to engage with art.

Mia is currently the Gallery Operations and Marketing Coordinator at THE COMMA, where she oversees marketing campaigns, social media strategy, and gallery operations. She manages promotional efforts for exhibitions, coordinates media outreach, manages the website and ensures an engaging public presence. Additionally, she handles administrative processes, event calendars, and internal communications to support the gallery’s mission. Through her work, she is committed to fostering community engagement and expanding access to the arts.
