ABOUT
OUR
TEAM

Our mission is to represent local and regional artists by providing quality exhibition space and professional sales and marketing support. Our goals emphasize fostering community and encouraging the public to engage with art by showcasing fine work in an accessible setting. By highlighting the talent of artists working among us, we serve to inspire, elevate and create new perspectives!

NEW LOCATION!  OPENING IN ORCHARD PARK / MARCH 14, 2025

THE COMMA FINE ART GALLERY will reopen in March 2025 at its new location on North Buffalo Street in Orchard Park, in the Rider Frames and Gallery building.

THE COMMA  is owned and curated by artists Christina H. Paul and Deborah R. Hill. The gallery will represent a roster of artists on view for extended periods of time. And host conversations about art to inform and encourage sales.

There will be two themed group shows a year with a curated ‘call for art’. The gallery will host monthly informal artist talks and salon-type gatherings called CONVOS to educate and allow space for dialogue on art.

Formerly at 17 Elm Street in East Aurora, the gallery was started in June 2023 by Christina Paul and partners Tami Fuller and Liz Birardi. After a successful year, the gallery closed in June 2024 due to the landlord's desire to take over the space.

The initial idea of THE COMMA has not changed. It is to encourage people to pause, to take a breath, to engage with art. It is a space for larger conversations about art and a comfortable place to consider purchasing an original artwork.

Curators and artists Christina and Deborah share a mission to support regional artists, creating a space that is truly unique to Western New York. Christina brings decades of experience in art direction, publishing and painting, having led creative teams at Candlewick Press and exhibited her work in New York and Boston. Deborah, a classically trained painter with an extensive background in fine art and design, has had her work collected internationally and previously ran a successful interior design business. Together, they have crafted a gallery with a welcoming, home-like atmosphere designed to encourage conversation, learning and meaningful connections through art.

Mia Arnold brings extensive experience in gallery operations, event management and marketing. With a background in arts administration and a passion for community engagement, she plays a key role in shaping gallery events, outreach and day-to-day operations. Her expertise and enthusiasm are invaluable to our team.
